Steven George

Research Associate

Steven is a Research Associate who specialises in social research and engagement within communities impacted by natural hazards.  A key aspect of his work is evaluating the effectiveness of recovery programs within devastated communities.

Steven is an experienced investigator and leads projects which rely on interviewing individuals traumatised by disaster. He also has considerable experience in developing surveys and evaluation programs aimed at assessing community perceptions of risk and preparedness for natural hazards. He is experienced in data analysis, the assessment of policy and legislation to manage risk and in conducting field-based research to better understand the impacts of natural hazards on communities.

 Steven holds a degree in Environmental Earth Sciences with a focus on natural hazards and has worked on projects with government, the emergency management sector and private organisations.
