Senior Risk Scientist
Mingzhu’s focus is the application of our spatial and machine learning technologies. Minzhu has successfully incorporated these into projects for government and a detailed bushfire loss model. She holds a PhD in Geography.
Mingzhu is a Risk Scientist specialising in GIS and remote sensing. She has extensive experience applying spatial and remote sensing analysis to climate change impacts and socio-economic problems across the Asia-Pacific.
Mingzhu’s research has involved extensive liaison with management and regulatory agencies, as well as consultation with a diverse range of sectors. Mingzhu’s recent work has included assisting with bushfire risk analysis, assessing flood mitigation proposals and strategies, visualising coastal impacts of sea level rises and extraction of building footprints.
Her research specialisations include spatial analysis of natural hazards and climate change risks, developing web platforms for mapping risks, image processing and land cover classification.
She received a PhD in Environment and Geography and a Master of Science in Environmental Planning from Macquarie University.
