Valentina Koschatzky

Principal Risk Scientist

As Principal, Valentina oversees the implementation our earthquake and cyclone catastrophe loss models, leading the successful delivery of complex modelling solutions to industry. Valentina holds a PhD in Fluid Mechanics.

Dr Valentina Koschatzky joined Risk Frontiers in 2012. Valentina has a MSc in Aerospace Engineering from Politecnico di Milano in Italy and a PhD in Fluid Mechanics from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. Her interests include numerical modelling, data analysis, physics and engineering.

While at Risk Frontiers Valentina has been primarily involved in the development of QuakeAUS, the Risk Frontiers seismic loss model. Other projects Valentina worked on include the elaboration of possible earthquake scenarios and the analysis and reporting on the trial and guilty sentence for manslaughter of seven Italian scientists in relation to the 2009 L’Aquila earthquake.
